5 Themes of Geography: Human-Environmental Interaction

List ways that people affect their environment every day. Which activities are most harmful to our environment? Explain why? Lastly, change is not easy. How can we help people around the world change their behaviors so we can begin to improve our environment?

We affect the earth everyday by littering, polluting, and smoking. We can change it by recyling and using fuel efficent cars

The environment is vital since we depend solely on it. The environment does not depend on us. If "Mother Nature" was smart she would have already destoryed us. We must thank her for her kindness.

Though we have tried to fix what we destroyed, the desturction is near. As the Earth grows warmer the polar ice caps melt. A time bomb that will detenate to destory us all.

    We affect the enviroment.
    Bad Examples:
    littering
    polluting
    smoking
    destroying forests
    Good Examples:
    recycling
    forest fire prevention
    fuel efficient cars
    ethanol
    not littering
    solar power
    not smoking

The environment is vital to us. We dostroy it even though we don't do as much to fix it. Life has changed because we are here. "mother Nature" is kind. we have not been destroyed yet. Even though she's nice the end is near. As we continue our everyday lives not noticing the polar ice caps melting due to golbal warming.

We depend on the enviorment for so many things but we destroy little by little. People pollute, smoke, don't recycle the list could go on and on. Some of the things we could do to change it is don't smoke, use hybrid cars, recycle, don't pollute ect. We can try to change but that is a very difficult thing to do.

I disagree with Thomas, because the environment does depend on us. We are just letting it down in many ways like littering and deforestation. Still just like it would be hard for us to live without the oxygen of the trees, it would be hard for the trees to live without our exhaled carbon dioxide.

To help others around the world adapt to change, we could start by setting an example, if we can adapt, can't they? We could travel as much as possible to get better acquainted with warmer weather, especially with so much littering going around. The ozone layer keeps on getting thinner and thinner everytime we pollute the earth. Katie Whiteman

Many people affect the environment every day from riding their cars to work, to smoking, even by throwing away recyclable materials. However, we can help the environment by driving hybrids, recycling, picking up trash, and saving the energy in our homes and schools; unplugging things when not in use. WE should all try to save our environment!

I think the activities that are most harmful to our environemnt are pollution (car exhausts, smoking, industrial wastes etc.) and cutting down trees. These activities are already causing "green-house" effect on the earth. We can change this by educating people around the world about the positive effects of recycling, planting trees, driving pollution free vehicles etc.

I agree with all my class-mates comments. I think with every body's comments we have covered all the harmful activities that are going on in the world today. There are some good suggestions to improve our environment like that of Jordan, Minh, Katie W.

I agree with Spencer because all she said was sooo true we pollute the earth, litter, and much, much more. Thae earth gives us so much yet we treat it like trash. Help protect our enviorment.

People effect the environment in so many ways it's SCARY. We effect it in negative ways like polluting, deforestation, and oil spillings. While we effect the envirnment nagative, we also effect it positivly by recycling, reforestation, and fundraisers. As you can see us humans effect the world drastically.

We affect it all the time. We litter and smoke. We can change it be stopping smoking putting more trashcans up and stop useing fuel

People affect the environment by doing things like driving cars, littering, and cutting down rain forests. No matter how hard we try we just keep messing things up.Like Thomas said the polar ice caps are a ticking time bomb waiting to melt and wipe out the human race.If we would just ake the time to care we wouldn't be in this situation.
